Thin wires are placed along the nerves during the "Trial," taking 20-30 minutes at the clinic. Patients then try out the device at home for 5-7 days. If it helps, they can opt for a "Permanent Implant." PNS effectively improves quality of life, sleep, and reduces reliance on pain medications.

Conditions Treated:

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS)

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS)

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation is recommended for the following:

  • Shoulder Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Ankle Pain
  • Foot Pain
  • Groin Pain

Patient Education

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation: The "trial" procedure lasts 20-30 minutes. Patients experience immediate pain relief. If IV sedation is needed, a driver is necessary. For more info, call us at 479-234-4433.

Genicular Nerve Blocks & Ablation

Genicular nerve blocks are a minimally invasive and highly effective procedure to ease knee pain caused by arthritis, prior surgery, or inflammation. If short-term relief is significant, genicular nerve ablation may be recommended, which desensitizes the nerve tissue using an electrical current.

Conditions Treated:

Genicular Nerve Blocks & Ablation

Genicular Nerve Blocks & Ablation

Genicular Nerve Blocks & Genicular Nerve Ablation are recommended for the following conditions:

  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Chronic knee pain
  • Post-surgical knee pain
  • Knee joint inflammation

Patient Education

Genicular Nerve Blocks: <5min procedure, provides immediate pain relief lasting several days.   Genicular Nerve Ablation: <10min procedure, pain relief kicks in within 2 weeks, lasting 12 months. IV sedation available, requires patient to bring a driver.

SUPRASCAPULAR NERVE BLOCKS & ABLATION

Suprascapular Nerve Blocks are a minimally invasive treatment that effectively alleviates shoulder pain by injecting a long-lasting anesthetic around the nerves. If successful, Suprascapular Nerve Ablation may be recommended, which desensitizes nerve tissue using an electrical current to stop the transmission of painful signals.

Conditions Treated:

SUPRASCAPULAR NERVE BLOCKS & ABLATION

SUPRASCAPULAR NERVE BLOCKS & ABLATION

Suprascapular nerve blocks & ablation are often recommended for patients with the following shoulder conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Chronic pain
  • Post-surgical discomfort
  • Joint inflammation

Suprascapular Nerve Blocks: - Procedure length: <5 minutes - Patients experience significant pain relief almost immediately - Expected duration of pain relief: several days

Suprascapular Nerve Ablation: - Procedure length: <10 minutes - Patients experience significant pain relief within 2 weeks following the procedure

The "Trial" procedure takes 20-30 minutes and involves placing temporary electrodes for 5-7 days. If successful, a "Permanent Implant" is then considered. SCS effectively manages chronic pain, improving overall quality of life and reducing the need for pain medications.

Conditions Treated:

Spinal Cord Stimulation is commonly recommended for patients with the following conditions:

  • Failed back surgery syndrome
  • Peripheral neuropathy caused by diabetes or cancer treatment
  • Chronic lower back, neck, leg, and arm pain
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Injuries to the spinal cord
  • Phantom limb pain
  • Abdominal and pelvic pain
